What's the Mallard Bay booking process?
You can book any of our packages directly through the Book Now buttons on this site — the booking widget walks you through dates, group size, and payment. Or call Paul at 807-271-3015 and we'll walk you through it.
What's your deposit & cancellation policy?
Deposit and cancellation terms are confirmed at the time of booking. Give us a call or send a message and we'll walk you through specifics for your package and dates.
Do I need a passport to cross the border?
Yes — all U.S. guests need a valid passport (or NEXUS / enhanced driver's license where accepted) to cross into Canada. Bring it with you; border agents will ask.
Do I need an Ontario fishing or hunting license?
Yes — Ontario MNRF licenses are required. Fishing licenses can be purchased online before your trip or at local outfitters. For hunting, you'll also need species-specific tags. We'll send you the specifics when you book.
What's included in the American Plan?
The American Plan includes lodging plus all meals (breakfast, shore lunch / field lunch, and dinner at the Lodge). Housekeeping Plan guests provision and cook their own meals in-cabin.
Can non-fishing or non-hunting guests come along?
Absolutely — spouses, kids, and friends are welcome. Non-hunting / non-fishing day rates apply. There's plenty to do around the resort: hot tub, sauna, patio, and the lake itself.
Are pets allowed?
Pet policy varies by cabin and season. Please ask when booking — we'll do our best to accommodate well-behaved dogs.
What's the weather like?
Summer (June–August): 65–80°F, light rain possible. Fall (Sept–Oct): 40–60°F, cooler nights. Winter (Dec–March): 0–30°F, plan for layers. Current conditions are live on our home page and contact page.
How does the rental boat package work?
Rental 18 ft boats with 50 hp motors come cleaned, gassed, and charged. GPS with map chip and spot-lock trolling motor included. We'll transport the rental to various launches and portage lakes — boats, motors, and gas on portage lakes are all included in the rental cost.
Are tips expected?
Gratuities for guides and lodge staff are appreciated but not required. Standard industry range applies — ask Paul if you want specifics.
Still have questions?
